What sites really offer the cheapest flights? Is there a "trick" to get the cheapest flights? I hear of all these $79 tickets.How do I get them? Thanks for any and all advice!!!!!

    One website I would suggest is FlyAirfares.com


  2. It depends on where you ar willing to go and what you are willing to give up.

    The $79 flights are usually for a very limited number of seats.  In some cases, 1 or 2 per flight.  In addition, that fare is usually one way, not including taxes, fees, fuel and luggage surcharges.  You need to book way early and be lucky to get this.

    If you are willing to travel last minute, airlines offer discounted fares via their website.  I know US Air does.  Sign up at each carriers website and download Ding! from southwest.  Destinations may be limited and flight times less than convenient.

    Your next bet is priceline, where you can bid.  One caveat, they don't show you the airline, and the flight is COMPLETELY non-refundable.

    Finally, try kayak.com for more standard fare searches.  They seem to provide a pretty good list of options.
