  1. power = potential * current

    this is easily derived. Power is in watts which are joules/second. potential is volts, current is amps which are coulombs/second. As one joule = one volt.coulomb the units balance to joules/second = joules/second.

    Thus,

    current = power/potential.

    Assuming international units.




  2. Potential is measured in volts.

    Current is measured in amps, and power in watts.

    Watts = Volts x Amps

    so

    Amps (current) = Watts (power) / Volts (potential)


  3. P=IV

    I=P/V

    where:

    P=Power

    V=Electric potential

    I=Current
