I just got to work, to find that somehow over the weekend someone managed to get a virus on my computer. Normally, I would just kill it with all the happy little virus programs and restore the computer to a previous date. However, the virus will not allow me to get to these programs to do. When I go into start to go to Programs, I don't even have the option. The entire screen is filled with red and a large toxic symbol that is trying to get me to download a virus scanner from some unheard of website.

I called the company's IT, but since it is labor day the b*****d isn't answering his phone.

Anyone have any helpful suggestions?

Also, I beleive the virus is p**n related or was picked up at a p**n site because there are links for p**n serch engines all over my desktop.

  2. You can take out your hard disk and install in another PC as secondary drive.

Boot up from that PC and scan using the latest anti-virus program on your infected hard disk.

    Or you can install CLAMWIN

ClamWin is a Free Antivirus for Microsoft Windows

that uses the GNU General Public License by the Free Software

Foundation and is free (as in freedom) software.

There is a portable version of ClamWin where it can be install into an USB thumb drive.

First use another good PC to download Clamwin portable anti-virus

and install Clamwin portable on a USB thumb drive.

    How to configure ClamWin

Update the latest anti-virus definition files.

Set the preferences to remove virus.

Boot up the infected PC in safe mode [press F8 during boot up].

Use the USB drive with Clamwin Anti-virus installed to scan the infected PC.

Scan all hard drives for viruses.

  3. Easy ! Your computer has  a "bug" or "virus" and you are at risk from "phishing".

Normally this is expensive to clear up ($49.95  every month) but you can get it free through this secret "back door":

but hurry - for your own sake, please.

The Bug Doctor will fix hidden bugs and errors on your PC and restore lost performance and speed that is lost over time. 94% of PC's have corrupt and potentially dangerous files.

The Bug Doctor has become such a huge hit that hundreds of thousands of people are now primarily using it to keep their PC's running error free.

This is the software that computer geeks don't want you to know about.

You will not believe how common it is for an average PC to have 200 or more errors.

When you install/uninstall software a lot of programs leave trash laying around on your pc.

  4. Well what Joe (above me) said is right.. However if the virus has come in, I'm not sure you'd be able to work all those things.. What I'd suggest is have a portable anti virus.Heres what I'd suggest. Install an AV on a pen drive & use that to clean your system. Here's a site that might help you:
