  2. hi,, nice to meet u.

first of all i want to tell u some thing..

u shown a pic and asking that u need that effect , u said u have a good camera.. what camera u have ?

the above mentioned pics are shot by professional and its not a simple job.

u need to know lighting , exposure, and composition..

u try with ur self by imitating..just observe the pic details, light souse, direction of light and composition, and try to click.. u may get that.

  3. Edit it, and your will be the same!

  4. I think both shots in the bebo.com album were shot from above--that makes the head look larger than the rest of the body since it is the closest thing to the camera.  I think the blue eyes in the second photo was enlarged just a bit using the "liquify--bloat" tool in Photoshop.  All the shots were probably cropped in post production to makes it more interesting--and it sounds/looks like the shots were self-portraits.  Front lighting is very flattering to most people--diminishes and smooths skin texture.  The side lighting can be harsh (you can see it in the first flickr picture) and I wouldn't use it unless you have nice skin already--but it can be softened if you want to spend the time post production--the Bebo.com boy's picture was softened.

I think your answer though, is post production work.  You could try slightly overexposing the skin and see if that gives you the look you want--this would look better in black and white though.

  5. It seems to me as a combination of light and perspective during the shot (composition).

The first picture was taking downward with a wide angle lens and some kind of harsh light going to one side of the face.  The rest of the pictures require a lot of frontal light on the eyes (window, softbox)

  6. I've been wondering the same thing!
