My Husband has been taking suboxone for about a year and a half for a pain pill addiction. About 3 months ago a he had me take a small part of one for back pain. (maybe a .5 mg) since then i have takin it more often to the point where i take about 2mg a day sometimes 4mg. ! I have never had an addiction of any kind of pain pills before... i just took it for back pain! And it did help! I have been skiping a day now and takin smaller doses. 2 days ago i took about 1mg and today i took .5 mg! If i dont take anything by the 2nd day i feel like c**p! How long will this last and am i going about it the right way? Also what can i do to help with the Withdrawls? And how long should i keep taking a small small amount to finally get through this? and will i still have BAD wd?

  1. Replace it with a drug with less Mg. Try Tylenol or Aleve. The actual addiction is in your mind and you taking these less ahrsh pills will take the place of the suboxone. good luck!

  2. You're really asking for trouble with this, and I'm certainly sorry you've gotten wrapped up into such a situation.

This is a matter for someone who is well skilled in addiction, and knows how to use/prescribe suboxone.  I have a few patients on it -- mostly for heroin addiction, but I send them to a different provider to handle that part of their care.

Please talk to your doctor about this to get some help.  And no...taking Advil or Aleve is not going to do anything.

    Best of luck.
