How to get ticks off of dogs?

my dog is infested with ticks, how do i get them off?

Cap Star tablets to kill the ones now takes about 2 days so  you will need a couple of doses you can get this from the vet either single tablets or a box of 6 then you need to get a monthly treatment from your vet,don't fool with the cheap stuff.K-9 Advantx or Frontline Plus.Be sure to tell vet what weight your dogs are for best treatment.For some un known reason fleas and ticks are out of control this year in many states where never was a problem much before.This news comes from my vet.So I am passing it on.I do know first hand ticks are bad everywhere this year.

If he is infested, it is important to get to the vet immediately, as he may get some disease. the best way to get them off (short of sliding them off with credit card/ tweezer is to use some sort of tick/flea medication, like k9 advantx.

if it is under 12 weeks you can use dawn dish soap if over 12weeks flea and tick soap will work

you should take him to the vet. and start to use a tick repellent like front line or advantix.

This is a true blue tick remover. It works the very best!!

Get a thick type of hand sanitizer, put a glob on a cotton ball, leave it there for a couple mins. When you take the cotton ball away, the tick will be stuck to it.

Take to the vet ASAP.  My cousin lost his dog that was badly infested with ticks.  There was more ticks than dog and it happened over night.  Then use a good flea and tick program.  I use Sargent Gold.  It works.  Good luck 2u.
