I want to know what routes to take etc. for going to the eiffel tower from charles de gaulle and back to the airport from the eiffel tower.

I would also appreciate if you mentioned the ticket prices and how long it would take.

THANKS :)

  1. Take the RER B marked "Direction : Massy-Palaiseau" to the Saint-Michel Notre-Dame stop.

Change to the RER C marked "Direction : Versailles-Rive Gauche" and get off at the Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel stop.

The Eiffel tower is about a ten minute walk from the station.

You should allow at least an hour for the process of finding the train station at the airport, buying tickets, changing trains and getting to the stop indicated. It could easily take as much as an hour and a half

You can buy a Mobilis (pass) for zones 1-5 for 12.30 euros. Please note that this is NOT the Paris Visite pass which they try to sell to tourists and which costs (for zones 1-5) 17.05 euros.

EDIT: OOPS! I think Sotires is right. I never buy a pass to get from CDG into the city and I forgot that the pass is no good for Roissyrail.

  2. well, there are several routes to take. I would recommend you take line B (its the blue line) from CDG all the way to Saint michel Notre Dame stop. There you can switch to train line C (the yellow line) and get off on Champ de Mars Tour Eiffel station. That should be an approximately 45 minutes ride.

To get back to the airport you can take the same route or can make your own. See the link below. Dont forget to buy an all day pass...it cost 4 euros, I think! Bon vayage!

    Bon chance...

  3. I agree with Rilifane, except about the Mobilis pass.

It does cover zones 1-5, but EXCEPT the airports.

So you will have to get the slightly more expensive pass, costing around 18 euros (I forget the exact price. In any case it's going up in July).

I'd also add that if you're just going to spend a couple of hours in Paris, just going to the Eiffel Tower is a pretty dumb thing to do, unless you need a photo of yourself in front of the tower for some reason (a competition maybe). If you actually want to go up the tower, bear in mind that you will have to stand in line, for well over an hour, perhaps two or three.
