I'm gonna be landing in CDG and I need details on which train station to go to etc... I read on a website that it says it's on the way to Strasbourg.

Sources would be great.

  1. go to http://www.voyages-sncf.com if you plan to take the train. (This website is a real nightmare though!)

You will have to go to the gare de l'est and take a TGV or a regular train to Nancy or Luneville and take a bus to Rambervillers or Gerardmer from there.

The best thing to do is to go to the train station (take the RER from CDG to gare du Nord, then the Metro ligne #4 direction porte d'orleans to the Gare de l'Est) and talk to the information booth lady or gentleman they might be able to let you know what are the trains to take. If you have a contact in Gerardmer ask them too, they might know of buses coming from Luneville or Rambervillers.

You can rent a car and take the Highway, I guess it'd take around 4.5 to 5 hours by car. It might even be better, the public transportations in France are great from city to city, alas for the country side and even worse in the mountain a car is by far more effective, especially in you don't speak French, it is hard to find SNCF employees speaking English.
