Dear friends,

With sincere suggestion from your friends in Yahoo answers, I found a cheap and good hotel in Paris - Hotel Tiquetonne (6 rue Tiquetonne, Paris) and have booked room there. Can you please inform how I can reach to this hotel from CDG airport? As I am visiting Paris for the first time, I don’t know anything about it. Can I get train from CDG to some other station and then taxi which might be cheaper or you suggest me to take taxi from CDG to the hotel?

Looking for your kind suggestion.

Neutya.

  1. Hello,

    Don't worry it's quite simple.

At CDG airport find the RER B station (RER is the fast metropolitan train). Catch a train and leave at "Chatellet les Halles" station (one of the biggest in Paris, you can't miss it).

There go out the station, your hotel is about 600 meters away north of the station...

  2. I rented an apartment  very close to this hotel.  Do not take the Turbigo exit!  The exit names are a little misleading, as I learned to my misfortune the first time I stayed in that apartment.  Instead take the Pierre Lescot exit and walk up the street a couple of blocks to Turbigo.

www.mappy.com can give you exact directions from Chatelet to the hotel.

This is a great neighborhood, so have fun.  Don't forget to visit the rue montorgueil market!

  3. Go the the RER B station in Terminal 2 at CDG and take the train marked "Orsay-Ville" to the Chatelet-Les Halles stop.

This is a very big station (the biggest in the world as I understand it) and you want to look for the exit (Sortie in French)  that takes you to rue Turbigo or rue Etienne Marcel. There are  signs that will direct you.

When you reach street level you should be at the intersection of these two streets. The rue Turbigo is one way street for autos and you want to walk against the flow of traffic (which is to say, to the northeast). this will take you across the rue Etienne Marcel and to the rue Tiquetonne. turn to your left on the rue Tiquetonne and the hotel should be almost immediately visible to you.
