  1. I've never gone from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, but in going to Port Canaveral from Orlando, I could rent a car for $50ish which was much cheaper for the two of us than any other type of transport.  Visit the port's webpage and figure out which agencies have a drop off there and contact them to see if they offer free transport to teh port from their office.

  2. When you get out of the airport, there will be taxis waiting outside... so don't worry so much about the taxi, because they will be there waiting for you.  I don't know how much it will cost.

  3. does your cruise provide the transfer?

or Super Shuttle - all ride together

  4. Other than the super shuttle, you might also think about a Towncar service or even renting a car (one-way) from the Lauderdale airport to the Port of Miami...

The trip is about 30 miles - taxi's would be expensive!!

  5. It's easy by taxi or Super Shuttle, with the taxi being more expensive. Ask the taxi, Super Shuttle driver how much it will be and they'll tell you. I can't remember the cost, but it did vary by taxi. The taxis and Super Shuttle go from Ft. Lauderdale to Port of Miami all the time so it's not an unusual ride request. Just be sure you tell them Port of Miami and not just cruise port or they'll take you to the Ft. Lauderdale cruise port.

  6. You have three basic options;  1)  take a taxi, there will be plenty of them at the airport and be sure to specify that you want to go to the MIami port because there is also a cruise port in Ft Lauderdale.  The taxi fare is going to be relatively expoensive because that airport is a long way from Miami port.

    2) go online and reserve a van ride with Superschuttle or some other van service.

    3) Call your cruise line and see if you can arrange round trip transfers from the airport to the ship and back.

  7. Ask the cruise line or your travel agent if they offer an airport to ship shuttle, many cruise lines do for a nominal service charge.
