How to get to Torquay?

Hey, I don't have a car and I'm not old enough to hire one. What's the most convenient way of getting to Torquay beach in Victoria from the city?

As someone said, take the train from Spencer Street (Southern Cross Station).  Otway buses do the buses down to Torquay and other stops on the Great Ocean Road.

Trains leave regularly from Southern Cross (formerly Spencer Street), and connect to the bus to Torquay.

Total travel time is about 90 minutes.

Hi there.  

The best way to get there (and the cheapest) is to catch a train to Geelong.  You can then catch a bus that goes down the coast to Torquay, Angelsea, Lorne etc.

Can anyone else tell us the name of the bus line so you can check timetables.

PS.  I think Technico below is in the wrong country, but helpful directions if you were looking for Torquay in the UK

there is trains leaving from the main country interstate station on spencer st several times a day to geelong then there is buses to torquay

train, 5hr straight through or 7hr changing. you will have to get off at newton abbott and take a local train to torquay or catch a cab. I always caught the train from Liverpool lime street but it may be different in victoria. However all of them go to newton abbott.

Torquay is beautiful i went there 3 times a yr and loved it, mainly because my sister lived in ellecombe.

torbay is gorgeous also. the front lights up at night and is a great view. if they still have the wall there you can walk up, its fab, there is a path that takes you right the way to the top and is very safe. the view of the front from up there is great.

I am jealous now, i wanna go again.

Brighton :: Angelsea is in wales, torquay is down south.
