How to get to alton towers from luton. i imagine train would be easier but what train,and how much?

Bus to Milton Keynes, train to Stoke-on-Trent, then bus to Alton Towers. There are buses direct from SOT train station to Alton Towers. 3 hours 40 minutes. Wouldn't give a price, sorry.

Might also be able to catch a train from Luton to Derby, then Derby to Stoke.
