  1. Here's the directions that Royal Caribbean cruise line gives:

    Directions:

    From Tampa International Airport:

Exit the Airport and follow signs to I-275 North.  I-275 merges with I-4 East.  Take I-4 East to Exit #1 (Ybor City).  Go south on 21st Street, turn right on Adamo Drive (Hwy 60). Turn left (south) on Channelside Drive.

Cruise Terminal 3 main entrance is approximately 5 blocks South on Channelside Drive.  Entrance is on the left at Cumberland Street.  In the event of a last minute change in pier assignments, signage will indicate the assigned terminal for your particular ship.

If you are going on Carnival or another line the driving direction will be the same until you get to the port area.

Or do a Google maps search:

Just type in Tampa Cruise Port and a map pin pointing the location will appear and if you want directions from home or anywhere you can get directions on Google also.

  2. Are you flying into TPA or driving locally?

  3. I had to leave from there on a cruise to the Caribbean in  2000.  We had directions, but it was still confusing.  I travel a lot, and would consider doing all of the following: use a traditional road atlas, use mapquest, call travel agent for directions, call the port office itself and ask for directions, try to drive there the night before to get familiar with the area if at all possible, and stop at every gas station to ask for directions if it keeps you from getting lost, and gets you there faster.  Consider going to electronics store and pretend to be interested in navigation system (such as garman) long enough to get directions from it, or purchase navigation system making sure to understand store's return policy.  Use it on vacation, and then take it back!  Also have one more piece of advice: my travel agent did excellent job by informing me of all the costs I would run into during the trip - except for one.  When I got to port, to aboard ship, I was surprised with a $75.00 fee to park my vehicle in the parking garage during the trip!  No one told me about that!  So, be prepared!
