How to get to downtown on Sims2?

how do you go downtown of the Sims2 nightlife. I know I sound stupid but I can't find it, I've done it before. I can only go to community lots atm. Please help? I'm trying to turn my sim into a vampire :P

When you call for transportation there should be a pop-up box with the choices of where to go.  On the left side it should list the names of the neighborhoods associated with your base neighborhood (eg:  Pleasantview, Bluewater,  Downtown, etc. depending on which EPs you have)  You select the neighborhood on the left and then it will list the available lots for that neighborhood...if your downtown lot is not listed then you may not have assigned the downtown lot with this base neighborhood.  Go to the neighborhood view and click the Nightlife button at the top and check there to assign a downtown.  Good luck.

Did you download the downtown if not go to the which house you want to chose and it should tell you if you want to download downtown and why do you want to turn your sim into a vampire?

Well since you've said that you've already been there, you don't need to install the Downtown area IN game. You can usually just drive you car there. Select your car, and it will ask you where you want to go, then select any of the many downtown venues.
