How to get to lancashire from london?

Hi there I would like to know how to get to Lancashire from London. I am situated in Wood Green. I would like to know how long it would take by public transportation and how much it would cost. Thank you for any help you can give

  1. do not go on virgin trains like most others would it is an appalingly uncomfortable and slow route and with the trent valley route now shut the average journey is over 3 hrs. my advice is to go from kings cross to doncaster then get a trans pennine express to preston blackburn or wherever you are going. the journey time should not be more than 3 hrs. also the trains are alot more comfortable than virgin with a good view from the window. the price on any route is about £50


  2. train from paddington to manc piccadilly takes prob 3 - 4 hours.

    i travel s wales to manchester and it takes just over 3 hours and costs me approx £40, dependant on what day i travel and what time. coach would take longer, not sure how much. flight would be quicker and you may get a good deal off the internet
