How to get to pondicherry from bangalore? What are the rates?

From Bangalore to Pondicherry, you can reach by road or train. But you dont have stright train facility to Bangalore.

The Bus route is, Bangalore-Hosur-Krishnagiri-Uttangarai-C... Thindivam-Pondicherry.

There are lot of buses running in the route. Sorry I dont know the exact fare in buses.

Presently there is no direct train from Bangalore to Pondicherry.

Yesvantpur-Puducherry Garib Rath was announced in the current railway budget (2008-09). So you can expect it by September 2008.

There are a lot of buses between Bangalore and Puducherry (Pondicherry).

1. For A/c Volvo Buses, try booking at KSRTC Bus Counter or online at http://www.ksrtc.in/

a) KSRTC Airavath - 08:30 Hours, Rs. 349 (Adult), Rs. 264 (Child)

b) PRTC Volvo - 14:00 Hours, Rs. 350 (Adult), Rs. 350 (Child)

c) KSRTC Airavath - 22:30 Hours, Rs. 449 (Adult), Rs. 339 (Child)

Tamilnadu SETC (State Express Transport Corporation) is plying Ultra Deluxe Air Bus at 22:00, The Fare is Rs. 220/-

Also there are a lot of normal buses run by STC (State Transport Corporation), Tamilnadu. For timings and fare for these buses, enquiry it at the Tamilnadu reservation counter at KGBS.
