I am currently spending a semester studying in Spain and am very interested in going to see the castle at Coca. However, since it is a small town, it is very hard to access. Does anyone know of how I can get to Coca and whether the castle is worth the effort. Also, are there any other town with good sized/well preserved castles (or cathedrals) that I should visit. So far I have seen the Alcazar at Toledo and Segovia and Banas de la Encima. Thanks.

  1. Segovia is wonderful. I was there last year and stayed just one night, but that was not enough to see this fascinating old city.

This year I have stayed in two castles through the hotel group Paradores. There is an 8th century castle in the town of Cardona, about 90 kilometres north of Barcelona and a 11th century castle at Tortosa. It was a privelge to stay at two magnificent castles.

As for Coca I have put a link to Michelin maps for you. Fill in the details and it will tell you in detail how to get to Coca http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/i...
