How to get two piece Swimwear for american red cross lifeguard ?

I've been an American Red Cross Lifeguard for 7 years now and we have always had to wear one piece swimsuits. I proposed the idea to my boss of allowing a choice of having one or two piece b/c the one piece is unbelievably uncomfortable and such a hassle but he wanted nothing to do with that idea... How should I go about trying to get two piece swimsuits to be an acceptable uniform for lifeguarding at my job? I've been trying to find literature on the benefits of having a two piece but not having too much luck, any suggestions would be wonderful!

  1. It depends on the employer. At the YMCA, the pool manager only allows one-piece. The manager at the town pool this summer is going to only allow one-piece, doesn't think 2 piece is good for public relations. The country club where my niece is a guard, one or two piece, as long as it is red.

  2. we have two peices now where i work.

and i work for red cross.

they are really cute and better.

we just got them this year.

  3. if you go to a local swim shop and pick up a speedo or tyr catalog you can bring it to your boss and he can see that far more lifeguard suits come as two pieces than as one pieces you could also try demonstrating that other companies in the area allow their guards to wear two pieces.

  4. All the life guards at my summer swimming pool wear two piece bathing suits. I dont see a problem with them becuase its not like anything is showing. Two pieces are also less expensive then one piece too.

  5. He sees it as unprofessional. and i believe hes right. two piece maybe more comfortable, but your there to work and look good representing your employer. your not there to tan or impress guys. one pieces arent that bad.
