How to get value from a flopped nut flush.?

Question

So last night, I played As7s from the BB and flopped a nut flush. I decided to play like I was on a draw for another spade and checked the flop. I got what I wanted when button value bet. I called. Same thing after the turn. But the river came with another spade, so my feint was over. I led with a value bet, hoping that he caught a weaker flush, but he folded. Any strategy points for playing a flopped nut flush?

Sometimes in a case like that you just aren't going to get paid off.  The best thing you can hope for was that your opponent had the K of spades. I find that fast playing a flopped flush will get you a little better payout.  Most players feel you are drawing or, you at best you have two pair and don't want to see another spade.  This will help get a little payout from a player with top pair or even a set.   Hopes this helps.

Was this limit or no limit?

If it's limit, don't check.  Period.

For no limit, you have to guard against letting someone draw out a full house.  

Two check-calls is a bad play.

Only thing I can think of is maybe bet out the turn if it's a non-spade, playing like you hit a straight or two pair, you might still get the call, because he bet the flop.  Then if opponent hits a weaker flush on the river you get paid off big.

didnt sound like u did real bad if he value bet twice. but sometimes it just depends on who ur up against. a calling machine or good player who can lay down big hands. learn to recognize that. when u bet at him on river that usually gives it away. thats ur way of saying ur not checking behind me. or use a blocking bet which is a small bet saying i wanna see the showdown but i dont wanna pay aot for it and hope he raises sensing weakness. or go ahead and check it again with a little bit of acting, very little. any ways GL

if your BBand if you have the first bet i would check or make a small bet,, if the other play bets just call hoping they will catch something hope they will because if they check they are thinking you ave the flush..or something then if it goes to the river and no bets was made..i would check because if has caught something they will bet .then raise or go all in
