How to get videos (TV shows, movies) from itunes onto your computer?

If anyone knows how to do this please let me know. Because since I've purchased a TV show, I would like to know if I could get it onto my computer or burn the TV show onto a disc or something.

I have an Apple TV that I use to download TV shows and podcasts and watch them on my TV. It's expensive, but if you're cable-phobic like me, it's the way to go.
