  1. Without a firewire cable? That is how miniDV tape camcorders transfer video... from the DV port on the camcorder, via firewire cable to the firewire port on your computer.

    If you don't have firewire and are unwilling to add that capability, the only other way I can think of is to go analog...

    Using the AV cable that came in the box, you will connect it to the camcorder and an Analog/Digital bridge. Pinnacle Dazzle is USB based. The A/D bridge is then connected to a USB port on your computer.

    Warning: Video transferred using this method is not very good...

    I think it would be cheaper (and lots better video quality) to add a firewire card and use a firewire (DV, i.Link, IEEE1394 - all the same thing) card in your computer...
