How to get videos from my sony handycam DCR-DVD 7 camera to my computer?

The actual software costs 50 bucks, i was wondering if anyone had the same camera and knew a way. i've tried some converters but the quality of the video after was terrible. if anyone knows a good converter or a way to get the acutal sony software that would be great.

  1. Well, it seems that your camcorder records on DVD disc, right? Then you just pop the disc into DVD drive in your computer and you can copy the VOB files from there in your computer. No need to convert anything, VOB files are playable mpeg2 files. Windows media player can play those.

    Since your disc has no copy protection, you can freely copy the files, no software needed.

    Now, if you need some additional work with those files, then you have to specify what you wanna do with them. But the actual transfer from disc to computer should go in windows explorer with lossless quality.
