How to get videos from my video camera to my computer?

I have the kind of video camera that takes miniDV tapes, and I have no clue how to take the footage off the tape onto my laptop...I read something about a Firewire, but I have no clue what that is...any help?

  1. You will need:USB cord and PC CD-ROM software (supplied with your camcorder).
