How to get vintage effect for Photoshop 7?

I'm trying to do it with landscape & portrait pictures. Here are links to how I like the effect,

  2. I have see the word, "vintage" tossed around here, in Yahoo Answers and I don't think most people know what it really means.

    In the case of most of your links, the photos, merely, look desaturated and slightly over exposed.  Even in the OLD days of 20th century photography, these wouldn't be considered good prints.  Not that some artistic statement couldn't be made with images, that way.  It's just that, in "vintage" times, this wouldn't be considered a "style," but rather, the result of a poorly trained photographer.

    In the case of the third image, it looks like a print that has been handled too many times and not stored safely.

  3. just fool around with all the effects until you get one you like,id try a sepia or make yourself look in focus and your background out. divide them as layers and use a blur effect on the background.

    try using some "rustic or antique" brushes too.
