How to get work for my buisness?

I want to start my own translating buisness, I have it perfectly planned out, and I undestand the market perfectly as I translate myself, apart from I cannot get clients, I just find it hard and a little bit scary if I invest money that I will get no customers.

Someone please help, I really want to do this!

advertise to courts, lawyers, and hospitals.  It would also be wise to be able to translate for hospitals.  So you would need to buy their book and pass their course of 350 terms and ailments that are used in hospitals.  You are scared to spend money to find customers?  Well, arent you sitting around doing nothing right now?

easiest way to get started without much risk is to sub contract to other large translation companies

You can then get a feel of the market place and know the type of client using the service then direct your services to that market sector

Start advertising. Post flyers, hand out business cards, talk to people about your business & maybe put an ad in a newspaper. Good Luck!

Well, I do not know what a translating business is, but all good business need advertising. Make flyer's, post stuff on-line, make your own website with info, and another thing that will help is getting people to help you work. there is no way you can do everything alone! I hope this was helpful

Build a website to advertise your service.

You can do this easy using google or Yahoo's website builder.

Then you need to advertise using google adwords.  Google display your website on the sponsored links when people search for your keywords.  Google charge you a fee everytime someone clicks onto your site.

Set a budget of around 20p per click and a total cap of around £50.  It will be the most effective advertising you can buy.

Tip:  Make sure the keywords and phrases you pick are most relavent.  (i.e choose 'English to German Translator' etc)
