In 3 days we will be having seminars and we have a guest instructor coming all the way from Japan. He expects perfcet ettiquite beyond what we normally practice in class (no crossing arms, no hands on hips). I will be testing for blackbelt during this time (I am 16) and all the adults said that basicaly I can have a perfect test and still fail because he is in a mood because of the younger students. Some of the young students are adhd to the extreme. I am always put in charge of them to watch them but things always get crazy and an instructor will have to come in and quiet everyone down. There is one girl in particular I am worried about she tries to be respectful but then in the middle of a seminar last year started doing cartweels and flips and when she was kicked out of the seminar she crawled around the room wearing a snorkle mask. Needless to say many of the adults did not pass their test. How can I make sure that the little kids stay in line with out the use of rope and ducktape.

  1. What do you do to punish the student who did something wrong?

The situation got out of control in the 1st place because no-one cared about giving them a punishment for their actions.

I am not talking about corporal punishment. At our dojo, we are very strict and any misbehavior is followed by either a series of press-ups or squats or if matters are worst they are expelled from the training  area until next time. Parents are also convened to meet the instructor.

With this we ensure that not only in an important event but also in day to day practice there is not problems.

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck for your grading.

  2. I'd knock the little demons out. If that's not an option then maybe you could bribe them or threaten them. Maybe have them be in another room during your test. If the guest instructor fails you then give him a spinning back kick to his head out knocking him out and say, "Fail my ***!".
