  1. Open an MS Word document and write your message there first. To get those letters, go to Insert on the toolbar and click on Symbols. You will find them all displayed under normal text, and special punctuation under symbols.

  2. If you go to your computer preferences (on Mac) or control panel (on Windows) and then go to regional language settings or something like that, you can select a German keyboard. Once you do this, a little like flag will appear at the top of you screen (Mac) or bottom on your toolbar thing (Windows) and you can switch between like English and German keyboards. You can put a lot of them on so that you don't have to like copy and paste or memorize keyboard codes or something. ok, good luck! :) If you need help, feel free to contact me on my profile!

  3. I use the "Alt" key PLUS numeric pad to the right of keyboard: pressing first "alt" then quickly the following numbers (while still pressing down on "alt") :

    "alt" + 132 = ä

    "alt" + 148 = ö

    "alt" + 0252 = ü

    "alt'' + 225 = ß

  4. ä = Alt 0228

    ö = Alt 0246

    ü = Alt 0252

    ß = Alt 0223

    You have to hold the Alt key while hitting the numbers

    Here is the full list in which & = Alt and # = 0 e.g ä = Alt 0228
