How to ghost/reformat a Toshiba Tecra m2v-s330?

I just bought a new laptop for school and want to completely erase everything on my old laptop. I do not care how the stuff gets erased because I do not need any files on it. XP was pre-installed and I do not have that disk. I have a Tecra m2v series recovery disk but when I try to load it, it says it is for a different computer or thinks that my laptop is not an m2v. I tired to load it when I first turned it on and pressed the "c" key and the process started to work until WRONG MACHINE came up (spelled with x's). So the recovery disk does not seem to work. I might have the serial number to XP, but I am not sure. If i need to access the i368 files (I don't know if that number is right) where do I find them and what do I do with it?

What do I have to do to reformat my laptop? (again, all of the files and programs can be erased, I have the office disk).
