How to go about buying a ship?

I want to start my own shipping company, but i really dont know where to start from. From where i should obtain data regarding ship prices, insurances, charterers etc. Please help

  1. I too need this details..But,not now..Anyway,consider Japan for buying it..I heard they are really fast in ship building..
