How to go about getting broadband?

Hi! We are moving to a new house soon and currently do not have broadband where we are, the house we are moving to the present occupier has bt and is obviously disconnecting this, we either wish to go with Bt or Virgin as we are not to sure yet. How do we go about this do we call up the company or do it online. Then what haapens does soemone come round to set it up? Also we will be using the broadband for a xbox 360 but I also wish to use it for my laptop to access the internet can we do both of these at the same time?

I'm with Virgin. I rang customer services and they set it all up. Extraordinarily this place had never had a phone line so I had to get BT to instal one so it took about two weeks to get broadband up and running.

Yes, about the xbox connecting.

As far as broadband I would call local providers and find the best deal out there.  Give them the address you're moving to and they will tell you what they can offer you.
