basically i am regretting going the NG route due to the fact of my situation at home.i am sick of the stupid **** my stepmom does, how she makes **** up,and how my dad usually believes her.i have been feeling this ever since i signed the contract back in april for college first.i have already found the MP unit i will be going to once i am done with basic.i know they will be getting deployed in june, and i want to go with them, cus i will feel guilty i am not going with them,i will be fresh out of basic so its the best time to go,and my situation at home.

i know choose to get deployed my college first contract will become null and void,so would this mean i am going active first, and i could just go active duty?will i lose my bonuses?could i get my contract changed by my RSP sergeant?

also i plan on changing my basic training date to october, november, maybe even september, cus i get my license on the tenth of that month,if its possible.i have to go to court cus thats what everyone has to do in my state to get theirs.would this also null and void my college first contract?if so could i just switch my ontract to college first?any other information would be helpful.

  2. Wellllll you've got a lot on your plate haha.

Well, it isn't your Step Mom's life. You should tell your family that it's your life, & they should be proud of you. We're doing a good thing being in the National Guard. Being deployed is going to be a lot more difficult than your mom being a *****, and your Dad taking her side. IT's kind of an unwritten law, that parents have to back eachother, even if they may argue about it behind closed doors.

I'm not sure if you know this but you can actually change states/move after you come back from basic & AiT. Maybe that could be an option. Do you have family somewhere else? Or friends even?

The National Guard will still pay for your college if that's what you mean, you'll just have a shorter contract. If you're active duty, you serve three years instead of six. You have to talk to your recruiter/Platoon Sergeant in order to go Active Duty. & No, you won't lose your bonuses. If anything, you might get a couple extra grand. Speaking of bonuses..did you know about the fast leave bonus? If you leave within a month of the day you enlisted, you get an extra five grand?

I know getting your License is a big deal, but maybe you could wait until you got back from AiT to get them, just so you could get out of the situation you're in. Where are you going to basic & AiT?

Active duty is a LOT different than the college first option..especially if you're a girl. Have you thought about going Active Guard?

Hopefully that helps you some, if not I'd Love to help you more!..haha if you couldn't tell, I'm in the NG too. :)
