How to go back to kanto in pokemon fire red?

im here at one, two and three island and i can't return to the kanto region(the one with the pallet town, viridian city, the works). when i choose to fly, it just show the 3 islands and when i get to the ferry, the choices are only the remaining 2 island. how do i return to it?(i need to face the Viridian city gym leader!)

you go to the village and there is a boat dock go in there and talk to the guy and tell him kanto region.

talk to guy with the boat going to Vermilion City in 1, 2, or 3 island
