How to go from Red to Brown?

I have faded red/auburn hair (was blonde before). It keeps getting lighter and lighter and is kind of an ugly rusty color. I'd like to just go a dark brown. I know going to the salon is best but I just want to get dye in a box. Since my hair is mostly faded red, what boxed brown color would work best? Do I get a warm brown, neutral or cool?

Sorry  but you are salon bound either way cause three out of five don't ever do it right themselves and they wind up in a salon paying double the price cause hair that is fixed to straighten out someone elses mess cost double. I know because that's what I did when I did hair

I would get "Chocolate brown" you might have to buy 2 boxes only because it might turn out a cola red brown color from the red in your hair so if turns out that color go a head and use the  second box and it and should cover it all up! =] Good luck I hope I helped!
