How to go from Vellore, India to Velankanni?

I need to go from Vellore to Velankanni around 4 or 5:00 Pm from Vellore on a Saturday. Which is the fastest way to go there? Is there any train available? If by car where is a decent place I can stay in the night with family and then continue? I appreciate your help.

Buses are availabe there. if possible book the ticket . Remember saturday is the busiest day. road
