How to go up to the grade you're supposed to be in.?

Okay well,

I am a freshman and my boyfriend [same age as me] is still in 8th grade because he was sick during the TAkS test days back in 3rd grade and they immediately failed him...I really wish he was in High School with me. He certaintly is smart enough to be in High School, he outsmarts me sometimes and I know there would be nothing wrong with him skipping to the grade he belongs in.

Is there any way for that to happen?

I heard somebody from school had taken this test that would send them to the grade that they belong in if passed.

Do I need to get his parents to talk to any principals?

maybe he should talk to his parents...cuz evidently he's smart =) i mean it was 3rd grade...he should be in 9th
