i was wondering if in order to grow muscles should you do more repetitions than weight or should you have more weights but less repetions in order to get maximum muscle size.

  1. Larger  weights, less reps. Make sure you can do around 14 reps with the most heavy weights you can lift that many times.

  2. Traditionally it's greater weight = bigger muscles, more repetitions = more cuts. But that's being challenged. Just workout. Part of the whole process is genetics and your muscles will just grow the way they're supposed to.

  3. This varies depending on what you do, but the fundamentals in increasing muscle mass is more weight less reps.

Lifting heavy weights means more micro-tears in your muscles, which is what you want. Resting repairs the muscle and makes it bigger and stronger. ***important*** The main forcus while doing these lifts is the last few reps of each set. You HAVE to go to muscular failure, so if you think you can't do another rep, try as hard as you can until you cant. This is where mental toughness comes in.

Doing lots of reps simply puts more blood in your muscles, which makes you feel "the pump" which is cool, but not necessary to build muscle.

Make sure you get enough rest, so that the next time you perform a lift, you are 100%.

  4. Less repetitions with higher weight will build lean muscle. Sinewy looking strength, but strong nonetheless. If you want to just work on size, i'd recommend more repetitions with less weight, and increase the intensity. Don't let yourself rest as long, you will see results.
