They also tell me when I can and can not have a life of mine of own. I am 24 years old and would like to leave but can't due to Finances. Does anyone know of anything that I can do to deal with this situation? I am a male victim of his control freak attitude

  1. I have had the same problem with my parents. tell them that they are not the olny ones living in the house your living there too. they need to listen to you to. stand up for yourself you are 24 years-old. Maybe you can compermize with them. pay a little rent a the house, then they can back off a little bit , and then they will leave you alone. OR, you can look for some cheap apartmants in the area.

  2. Repeat after me, "Would you like to try a freshly baked apple pie with that?"

Dude, If I were your dad I would have already had the locks changed. If you want to be treated like a big boy, you must 1st be a big boy.

To deal with the situation you could start by getting a job and  supporting your own slacker @ss.

Oh, and the next time your dad says that you're stubborn, stomp your feet, ball up your fists and scream, "I'M NOT! I'M NOT! I'M NOT!"

Man up! Find some ambition! Embrace your inner stud and bachelor out into the world.

  3. Grow up and get a life and then your dad can't control you.

  4. in Patience

  5. Obviously you are living off of your parents. Figure out how money you are saving a month by living with your accomodating parent. I think you should be grateful he is helping you out instead of wanting more.

  6. You live with your dad... so you really have no room to complain.  Finances are not an excuse.  There are lots of folks, younger than you even, that are doing it on their own.  So it is his house and he has the right to make up whatever rules he wants.  Get a job, any job, and find your own place, even if it is a simple one bedroom that isn't in such good shape.  Really, it is far beyond time for you to move out.

  7. Go to college live on campus thats what i did. Just make sure you have a job waiting for you when you graduate. Dont end up like me moving back home having to beg mom for the car so i can get a job.
