How to handle the guy always paying for the dates?

The guy I have been dating for several months always pays for everything. Everytime I offer to take the tab he saids next time, but next time comes and he picks it up again. I am not complaining. The other day I asked him to join me for a drink and appetizers. He left to talk to his friend and when he came back said "did you pay it already?". It took me by surprise, he ended up paying and I felt a bit stupid. We both enjoy each others company, but how do we keep the dates reciprocal.

Talk to him about it and find out what he's comfortable with.  Just let him know that there have been times that you want to pay but he's taken care of it already.  Maybe you can pay for certain days of the week?

If he asks you out he pays. If you ask him out you pay (unless he wants to pay or split it half and half).

hmm...well if he dosnt mind paying then just let him. but if it truly bothers you tell him and ask him if it would be ok if you payed once or twice. im sure he would be okay with it :)

He's being nice, and you're being a freeloader. Try not being a freeloader for a change.

He had to ask you if you paid the bill? LOL, that is sad... He pays for everything and you can't pick up the tab once? You have no class.

I like to pay for all my dates, even when i take my girlfriend out and we share the same bank account now, i still like to pay. it's the old fashioned guy in me, but if you want to pay for dates, call him up and ask him out and say it's your treat and i doubt he'll try and pay, but i've never had an issue with paying even if the girl asks me out. It's what gentlemen do.
