How to hang this shelf?

Question

I bought this shelf from a store and I don't know how to hang it. It has a sort of v-shaped metal bracket going along the top of the back of the shelf. What do I use to hang it on my wall? Oh and I don't know if this helps but the shelf's about 2 feet long. Thanks!

You wouldn't be able to supply a pic would you? I've hung a few shelves and that isn't ringing any bells, but it isn't for a cantilevered shelf is it? (if it is the pointy end of the V should have a big long space for the shelf to slide into one shelf is attached to the wall so that will tell you the s***w holes should be exactly opposite)  If it is metal there will of course be holes for your screws (screws for shelving not nails please, nails can and will pull out under pressure, screws bite into the wood - speaking of which you are hanging this from studs in the wall I hope?) otherwise you will either have to go back  to where you bought it,  (or check their website?) or post a picture I think.
