Question:

How to harden my shins more and strengthen my joints?

I train my shins by bashing a wooden support beam, rolling a broom handle on them as hard as I can, its to the point where I can slam the pole (very weakly padded so i don't bust/cut my skin open) without flinching, I want to further my shin's strength.

Also, how can i work on toughening my joints and other bones, my forearms are pretty decent.

I do this under the supervision of my MMA trainer, I wouldn't do something I'm not ready for, for those thinking I'm going to have problems with my legs and body from MMA training, I am actually feeling better than I have years ago, and I'm 15, Martial arts has given me renewed energy, vigor, and strength

  1. bamboo

start banging it as hard as you can against your shins

i work with a solid wooden cane and my friend gave me a piece of bamboo instead, things so much harder

as for joints, try the Russian Sambo 30 seconds in heaven routine

itl strengthen your tendons like you wouldn't believe

  2. Id say follow what your trainer says about the shins and just gradually hit the wood harder. As for joints i dont believe they can get stronger and they actually will lose cartlidge (idk how to spell it lol) under prolonged use so give em a rest every now and then.

P.S. would you mind answering my question about fighting this kid.

  3. Sorry to have to tell you this. I started training in the 60's and still train. I have joint problems and arthritis developing because of training like you are doing. I strongly suggest that you don't make the same mistakes I did. There is a point where you can stop and hopefully your body will totally heal. No one knows at what point you have gone to far and will have problems that won't go away.  I wish you luck with your training, but do it in a way that you won't regret.
