My husband works for Google and he would suggest you get a degree in computer science, or similar. Also, try interning at one of Google's offices. That way, you will have recommendations from the guys who you'll be working with. Also, have recommendations from employers and/or professors. All of the people he works with are at the very top of their game. They came from large companies where they were very well respected and had multiple patents; or they were PhD students who interned there and then applied for a job.

It's about 20 times harder to get a job with Google than it is to get into Harvard. So, work as hard as you can and good luck!
