  1. Advertise in the newspapers. Put your big ticket items 1st so they catch the attention of the people. You can also put up ads in some stores. Also put up signs in your neighborhood. Word of mouth is one of the best ways to advertise. The sooner you get your sale dates known, the sooner people can plan to be there. Good Luck!!

  2. Advertising, organization and prices. be sure people will notice you are having a sale. If at all possible, hang clothes so they are not in a messy heap within 15 minutes. Place the size and price on each piece. Price to sell. Yard/garage salers are looking for bargain prices. You may even be shocked with what some people will offer on some things.

  3. 1. Make BIG legible signs with arrows pointing the way.  WRITE BIG! (remember to take them down after your sale)

    2. Present items in groups, kitchen, toys, kids, tools, books, etc and make sure prices are marked to avoid answering the "how much is this" question a million times.  Be prepared to take less for something than it is marked.

    3. Put a notice in Craigslist 1-2 days before your sale.  Give directions and an idea of what a browser can expect to find.  Many people are looking for specific items.  You can also put an ad in the local paper.  Some communities require permits to have a yard sale.  Check first to avoid a fine.

    4. Hang clothing by size or season or color or some other organized method.  Mish mosh clothing usually ends up at the Goodwill at the end of a yard sale.

    5. Warn your neighbors about people parking in the area to look.  A little consideration goes a long way.

  4. have a really nice garage for sale

  5. If u r selling clothes, hang them up easier to look at.  Mark prices to sell...low. Have water and soda for sale if hot day...

If you garden put out surplus veggies and plants...Use  bright colored signs....like lime or lemony green. Have a least one helper to keep an eye on things while people ask questions.

Have your sale outside and keep yourself in the garage blocked off from entry. Keep money box out of sight...If you sell jewelry and other small items keep them on a table in front of where you sit or take the monies.  Be flexible on offers...Have  a small give away table or box for things you might throw away, you never know what people will take if it's free and they may also feel like they should buy something if they take it for nothing...Good Luck!

  6. Presentation. Lay everything out nicely and organized, maybe according to category (home, clothing, toys ect..). Also, I would advertise on Craigslist and also make signs to put up around the neighborhood.
