  1. If it was a shallow bite, neosporin and a bandaid should take care of it pretty well.

If it was a puncture bite, which sometimes happens with rodents, it may need a little more care, including a tetanus shot.  Germs may be trapped below the surface, an you need to make sure the body can deal with them.  Minimally, I would soak it in hot water (as hot as she can stand) for 5 minutes, then plunge it into cold water; ideally do it three times.  This greatly stimulates the blood circulation and lymph circulation which is important for fighting infection.  [Soaking in hot or very warm water anytime will boost blood circulation and speed healing.]  Then I would apply neosporin and a bandaid; keep it bandaged this way most of the time for a few days until the wound is clearly healed.  This is to ensure that the wound doesn't scab over the top before any infection is healed on the inside, as this could cause an abscess.  If the wound gets worse, though, it would be best to see a doctor.

  2. u need to take her to the emergency room asap!!!!!! if it has rabies they need to work on her fast.... can u find the animal? if so, call the animal control to catch it so they can see if it has rabies...... u would wan to  know because the treat ment for it is horrible, its a thick 9 inch needle they put in ur stomache, many times...... she wont need it if it was not infected by the virus

  3. Wait so is the chipmunk yours or was it wild? If it is yours you did exactly what you needed to do just cover it at night with a band aid and let it air out during the day until it scabs and heals. If the chipmunk was wild make sure the bite is not swollen around the area.If it is take her to the ER to get it checked-did it foam from the mouth?...if it did it carried rabies and she will need a shot.

    Good Luck!
