How to heal a swollen foot FAST?!?!?!?

okay, so my dad fell =[ and he has a swollen foot now.. anyway this can heal fast? i felt really bad for him when he fell.. i almost cried cuz i never saw him fall like this before, so please help me to get his swollen foot better... FAST!! i already gave him ice and stuff!!! any ideas??

Ice is good. Also, he'll want to rest it and keep it elevated. He can take some ibuprofen as well. If he's in a lot of pain or if there is no decrease in the pain over the next 24 hours or so, he should go to the doctor to make sure he didn't sprain, fracture, or break anything.
