I am trying to help to optimize a website. www.leadershipfirstbooks.com. I have submitted it to google and yahoo, but it still is not coming up on the search engines. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Like others have said, it takes time.  You can also submit your site to get a free hard link at http://directorix.net where your link won't be buried on some /links page like some exchange programs work.

Patience is what you need right now.

It takes anywhere from 30-45 days for the search engines to pick up the site. You can try re-submitting it everyother day and sometimes it could speed up the process. After this look into having your site optimized for search.
