How to hit a backhand in tennis?

Hi there

I need help in hitting a backhand, usually when the ball comes that way if i don't leave it, i usually end up missing the ball if i swing at it. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to approach the ball, and hit it so that it goes over the net?

practice it over and over again until it is perfect

make sure you turn sideways

make sure the racquet is more closed but slightly open

point the butt of the handle in the direction in which you want the ball to go

dont get too close to the ball, start the racquet down low and finish over opposite shoulder

i have a bit of trouble with it too but if i follow the above tips, my backhands turn out fine
