I have a karaoke machine with a small screen and would like to hook it up to a larger t.v. screen. The karaoke machine has only one output. I would also like to hook up my p.a. system. Would I have to hook the karaoke machine to the t.v. and the p.a. sytem to the t.v. audio out? Or would I have to hook the p.a. system to the karaoke machine? And if so do they have an output splitter?

  1. To answer this question properly, I need to know what the one output of the karaoke is.

If it is a line-level (RCA jack) output and it is yellow, this will only carry the video to the television, no audio, so you could not use it to hook up to the P.A. at all.  This is the most likely.

If it is a 1/8" combined jack (two or three stripes) then you can split the 1/8" out put and run the video component to the television, and the audio to the P.A..

If it is some type of composite cable (coaxial) then you would run it first to the television, and then the audio out from the back of the TV to your P.A..

Let me know more details on that output and I will try to narrow down a more effective answer for you.
