We've had to hook up the TV to the DVD and then watch cable by controlling the dvd player. So the hookup looks like this : TV ---> DVD (we watch cable through) but we want the hookup to still have the DVD hooked up but be able to just have the cable go through the TV , any ideas?

  1. Apparently your tv is just a monitor(has no tuner) with one set of input jacks. Walmart carries a multi input automatic selector box for using several pieces of electronics on tv sets with limited inputs. Cost about 35 dollars and has all the different video types of inputs. Made by philips , model # PH61150

  2. your question is a little confusing,  but I think you mean that the cable goes into your DVD recorder that then goes into your tv and you use the DVD channel controls to watch TV. Many electronic stores carry switch boxes that would allow you to hook up several different video signals into the box and then out put the selected signal to your tv. So all you have to do is select what you want to be displayed on your tv, whether it be the cable signal, DVD, video game, etc...
