How to i put my personalised plates on my car?

Question

There's a sticky backing thing - plus it says to drill holes - will it break if I drill too close to the edge? Is the sticky back thing for extra stick?

There's no freaking instructions on this thing..

It sounds like you have a "novelty" plate and not a DMV issue "personalized" plate. I've never seen any plate that didn't already have mounting holes though. I would shy away from using the adhesive on the back so it's not permanent. Use an existing plate as a template for where to drill the holes and mount to the factory location. With that you should have no worries about being too close to the edge.
