How to i set the sag on my suspension?

my kawasaki kdx200 is a little too big and i need to lower the suspension maybe just an inch? how can i do it?...oh and it also has one of those wierd compression bottles next to the shock and i think that may be have somehting to do with it.

  2. Don't touch what you call a compression bottle it is filled correctly. Lowering the sag is done to a minimum. You set it by measuring the bike without your weight on it, measure from a point like the exhaust tip to the rear axle nut, then with your weight on it have some one measure it again, have someone balance you with out pushing down on the bike (holding on to the grip.) your feet on the pegs. You lower it buy turning the nuts on the shock spring(backing them off) loosen the bottom one first it is the jam nut that prevents it from loosening up A normal difference in sag should be about 3.75 inches and no more then 4 inches.

    Without moving the spring write down your beginning off bike measurement you will not check this again.

    As you back of the spring measure it with you on it again, you will make several on bike measurements until you have it right. Do not back it off more because it will upset the handling of the bike. Never mess with the valve on the reservoir
